The west coast session of the International Police K9 Conference will be hosted by the Simi Valley Police Department from October 9th - 14th inclusive. This conference will have five programs available as described below.
The Host Hotel is the Best Western Posada Royale Hotel and Suites, 1775 Madera Road, Simi Valley, CA 93065 Phone (805) 584-6300. Room rate is per diem rate of $105 per night, double and single. We have reserved a block of rooms specifically for the conference, however that block of rooms will be released on August 31st, 2011 at which time there will be no guarantee of room availability. When calling to book your room, ensure you mention the group name International K9 Conference in order to secure a room that has been set aside for the conference. Note: For booking purposes, the course starts at 1900 hours on October 9th, 2011 and completes at 1200 hours on October 14th, 2011. Attendee check in and registration will be open by 1600 hours at the hotel on October 9th.

Patrol Dog Program
Our reputation was built on the tactical training approach in our patrol dog programs. This program includes day and night tactical problems, tactical building entries, K9 deployment for felony car stops, live fire training, deployment in chemical munitions, German muzzle philosophies and techniques, legal updates, criminal psychological profiles and much more. Classroom events include lectures on liability concerns, K9 Officer Safety, Training Techniques and problem solving ideas.
In many locations, depending on the host agency availability, helicopter deployments are also included in the training regimen. Some programs will also include our K9 trauma care program.
Urban and Tactical Tracking Dog Program
For officers who want to take their dogs to the next level in tracking the program provides hands on instruction in urban tracking techniques with tactical support training. Those who have dogs at a basic level or wish to introduce their dogs to tracking will also have instructors to work at the basic and intermediate levels. This program is a dedicated program where you will focus eentirely on the tracking profile during the entire week. This program is designed around general purpose patrol dog teams who wish to include tracking as part of their profile.

Explosives Dog Program

The Narcotics Dog program is a hands on experience featuring basic and advanced problem solving, basic techniques and K9 development by Randy Hare as well as practical exercises etection program is provided by experienced police dog trainers. This program provides hands on real life training.

We provide experienced K9 Unit managers with the latest legal updates and management skills on law enforcement use of police dogs. At the same time, we provide a working foundation for administrators new to the field of dog services. This program is particularly beneficial to administrators who have no prior hands on K9 experience. Here you can discover how valuable a resource you have and how to best deploy those resources.
